House of Spooks ~ Halloween Special

Hey guys. Happy Halloween! I'm super proud of this story, I just love how it turned out, and I hope you guys enjoy it too. I just give a really quick thank you to my awesome neighbors for letting me shot in this old house on their land. ❤️ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Any aces?" "Nope, go fish." "Hey, Em! You ready to go?" Emerson asked as she and Candy walked into the kitchen. Emily turned in her seat, "Emerson, I already told you, you're fourteen years old I'm sixteen years old. I'm not taking you trick-or-treating." "But Emily, Candy is still thirteen. This is her last chance to go out on Halloween, but her mom said she could only go if I went with her, and Mom said I can only go if you go!" Emerson argued. "Yeah, but Janet and I have plans." Emily replied. 'Where you going to play 'Go Fis...

Kit's POV
********************************************
(Small apology. Sorry for the junky editing. My computer flipped it's lid.)

The Matron walked into her office, suspecting nothing.

She looked over at her prized chest of confiscated items, and sighed happily.

But as the matron went to sit down on her chair...there was no chair.

She looked up in surprise, eyes darting around the room for her chair.

It sat all the way across the room in a corner.

The Matron set the table back on all for legs and pulled her chair back over.

She straightened her papers,

And sat down.
As she did so there was a horrible crunching sound.

She jumped away from the chair in surprise.

And surveyed, in dismay, her mangled reading glasses.

Without her reading glasses the Matron had to hold the paperwork inches from her face to read it.

When she finally finished, her eyes were sore and she was tired and grumpy.

Just then the Matron noticed the cup of tea on the edge of her desk.

She slurped it, gratefully.

Until she realized that the tea, was not tea, but a mixture of mud, pond scum, and puddle water.

Which she commenced to fire-hose all over her finished paper work.
And I got it all on video on the phone Claire lent me.

"NO!" the Matron cried, as she surveyed her sodden pile of paper.

"Someone is going to pay for this!"

(Note: Sorry about this part I was behind the wall so I couldn't see what was happening.)

The Matron had gathered all the girls in the house into the entrance hall where the rules hung, in their glass cases, all along the wall.

"Now," Mrs. Prescott addressed the girls, "A new rule has been added to the wall. Would anyone like to read it for me?"

No one offered.

"Fine." the Matron snapped, "I'll read it. It says,'No student shall be allowed into the Headmistress's office, unless called by the Headmistress, herself.'"
The matron stopped, she seemed to be waiting for something.

"Now?" Mary whispered to me, through the wall.
"No, not yet." I answered.

"And another thing!" The Matron called,"The person who did all the...things in my office is going to pay! Who ever you are, please come forward."

"Now." I whispered.
"I was me." I answered the matron, and her eyes got big.
"No," she mumbled, "I-i-it can't b-b-be you."
"It's me, alright." I said, "And things are going to change around here. Here are my conditions..."

"Conditions!?" The Matron interrupted, "Conditions for what?"
"For me to leave, of course." I answered, "Now, the conditions are, I get Ruthie back, and I can leave without any trouble."
"Wh-wh-what?" The Matron sputtered, angrily.
"Oh, and Teresa is the new Matron." I added as an afterthought.

"That wasn't part of the plan!" Mary hissed.
"Don't sweat. I know what I'm doing." I said.
"Never!" The Matron snapped, "I'll never ever let you leave!"
"Suit your self, but like I said, things are going to change." And with that I walked away.
