House of Spooks ~ Halloween Special

Hey guys. Happy Halloween! I'm super proud of this story, I just love how it turned out, and I hope you guys enjoy it too. I just give a really quick thank you to my awesome neighbors for letting me shot in this old house on their land. ❤️ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Any aces?" "Nope, go fish." "Hey, Em! You ready to go?" Emerson asked as she and Candy walked into the kitchen. Emily turned in her seat, "Emerson, I already told you, you're fourteen years old I'm sixteen years old. I'm not taking you trick-or-treating." "But Emily, Candy is still thirteen. This is her last chance to go out on Halloween, but her mom said she could only go if I went with her, and Mom said I can only go if you go!" Emerson argued. "Yeah, but Janet and I have plans." Emily replied. 'Where you going to play 'Go Fis...

Get Back On ~ A Photostory

"I'm so bored." I complained as I sat on the couch and watched reruns.

"Well," Charlie said from where she was playing "you could go play volleyball."

"By myself?" I asked.

"Oh." Charlie said, "How about going for a ride with Champlain?"

"That's it!" I exclaimed.

Soon I had my English riding outfit (Thank you so much Grandma!!!) on and was walking towards the stable.

Champlain heard me coming from a mile away.

"Hey boy." I cooed as I drew up.

I hopped over the fence and Champlain backed up into the stall.

First I grabbed the brush.

I began to brush his hair.

"There." I said nodding with satisfaction when I was finished.

Next I put his blanket on his back and realized I would have to lead him out of the stall to put the saddle on.

So I lifted up the bridle to let him sniff it before I put it on.

Then, just when I was about to lift up the bridle to try to put it on, Champlain stepped on the reins.

"Hey," I cried as I tried to pull them out from under his hoof.

Finally I got it into place...now for the bit. Champlain ducked and dogged until, after three attempts and five stepped on toes, the bit was in his mouth.

Then I heaved the saddle onto his back.

I was finally saddle! I had forgotten how good it felt!
But suddenly Champlain shot forward and it was all I cold do to hold on!
"Whoa!" I cried as I clung desperately to the reins.

Then he stopped so suddenly I almost fell of.
"Whew." I sighed.

"Alright," I said as I sat back up, "let's go this way."
I pulled the reins to the left.
Champlain didn't move.

"Um. This way?" I asked, a little unsure, while pulling the reins the other way.

Champlain reared up and snorted, then shot off to the right!

And I fell out of the saddle.

Champlain stopped a little ways ahead and looked back at me.

"Hey, you stupid horse! Get back here!" I shouted.

I got back on and Champlain shot forward!
"Whoa!" I cried as I pulled back on the reins.
And he stopped so suddenly...

that I flew out of the saddle on to the ground.
"This is going to take a little longer then I thought."

Two Hours And A Million Attempts Later...

It felt like the hundredth time I had fallen off.
I felt defeated.

I stood up. My back and legs were aching, it was so hot out side I could barely breathe, and one of my ponytail holders was missing so my braid was coming  undone.
"I'm done." I said out loud.

Champlain snorted.
Then he did something very unexpected...

He came over and nuzzled me!

"Oh Champlain!" I said as I gave him a hug.

"Can I try again?" I whispered.

I was back in the saddle.
"OK. This way." I said pulling the reins to the left.
What do you know! Champlain turned!

And so we rode for about two more hours.
😊
