An Excited Disaster ~ A Photo Story

Taryn quietly sat up in bed. She was about to go up stairs when she remembered. She had chicken pox! "Oh." she groaned as she felt her head.

 " Wait!" She looked down at her hands. " It's GONE!!!" She shouted as she threw her hands up in the air! 

She raced up stairs to tell her Mom and Dad. When they saw it was gone they said " Now We'll tell you." " What!?" Taryn cried. " It's snowing! " They said together. " We didn't want to tell you when you we're sick because we thought that would make it worse." her Mom said but, Taryn didn't hear her she had all ready got her snow clothes on and ran outside!

She ran towards the lake,

Skates in hand!

"Finally," she whispered, " I'll have another chance at the skating competition!"

She raced down the hill to the lake and out on to the dock. The ice was clean from the wind, no snow to clear away! She plopped down to  put her skates on.

They felt so good to have on again.

She remembered to take her glasses of but..............she forgot to check the ice first.

She twirled and glided across the ice gracefully.

Until she lept into a mid-air spin!

She came crashing down and the ice splintered under her!

She desperately grasped for something and, she found a large branch.

She was soaked to the waist! How would she get back to the house now!!!

It was a long way back to the house.

But she had to get back or she would freeze!

So she whispered a prayer, 

and she began to crawl up the hill because she was too cold to walk.

It seemed like forever before she got up the hill and, she was going to sit the bushes for a break. She was about to sit down but, a voice in her head told her to keep going.

She still had a long way to go.

But she kept going.

She had finally made it.But frozen fingers were to cold to open the door so, she knocked as loud as she could.

Then she fell unconscious against the door.

"Ugh," Taryn groaned. She felt cold still.

"How do you feel?" her Mom  asked. "A little cold is all." Taryn answered. "Good." her Dad said "Now lie down."

her Mom put another blanket over her then said," I called the doctor and the doctor said-"

"No more monkeys jumpin' on the bed?" Taryn said grinning. "No," her Dad said " at least a day in bed!" "Oh." Taryn sighed. "Now try to get to sleep." her Mom said as they left.

"Well, from bed to adventure then back to bed. Oh well." She said to her self as she drifted off to sleep.
